Udupi: Father of Pejawar Math seer passes away

Udupi, Nov 7: Angadimaru Krishna Bhat (103), father of Pejawar Sree of Sri Krishna Math of Udupi, passed away on November 5.

Krishna Bhat is survived by five sons and seven daughters including Sri Vishwaprasannatheertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math. He was a senior agriculturist of Angadimaru near Pakshikere and was also doing Purohit work since many years. He also served as temple priest in Kanyakumari and Nagarakovil temples. He also created Tulunad panchanga. He used to impart education in Gurukula style at his home. Krishna Bhat donated chariots to three temples.

Swamijis of Asha Maths expressed their grief over the death of Krishna Bhat. Union minister Shobha Karandlaje, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLAs Srinvasa Poojary, Yashpal Suvarna, Gurme Suresh Shetty, former MLA Raghupati Bhat, Youth Congress leader Mithun Rai, BJP district president Sudarshan Moodbidri and others have expressed their condolences at the demise of Krishna Bhat.
