‘Justice will be done’, assures Hebbalkar to Udupi murder case victim family

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Nov 17: District in-charge minister Laxmi Hebbalkar visited the family of Udupi quadruple murder case on Friday, November 17. She met Noor Mohammed, the head of the family and his son Assad and other family members at their residence in Nejar.

The minister offered condolences to the family of Noor Mohammad. Local Congress leaders were present.

Speaking to media after the visit, Hebbalkar said, "This incident is a demonic act. I have visited the victim’s residence and consoled the family. The police department is doing a good job. We will see that justice is done to the family at the earliest. Udupi is a peace loving district. This incident has shocked everyone. We have to ensure that such incidents are not repeated. We will take precautionary measures and maintain law and order. Of course, no one had any information about the culprit staying in Belagavi. The man behaved like a psycho. He is a married individual. What can be his mental status to commit such a heinous the act within 20 minutes? The family has demanded fast-track investigation through the court. The head of the family has given a name to be appointed as the public prosecutor and we will investigate through them.”

Speaking about the anguish of the locals against the district in-charge minister for not visiting the family after the incident, Hebbalkar said, "I came late because I was in Belagavi. I was in contact with the family and the police department. In addition, I have followed up the case even though I was outside the district.”

Noor Mohammed, who spoke to the media after the minister’s visit said, "The minister has accepted our appeal. She has given me confidence that justice will be done soon. We have demanded a speedy court hearing. We have demanded to appoint advocate Shivaprasad Alva as the public prosecutor. She has assured to cooperate in all ways.”

justice will be done is a very easy phrase dear minister sahiba....but when?....this case needs to be treated as rarest of rare and get it on fast track court....do not allow any saffon elements to interfere and divert the track of the case as it was done in the case of young soul Saujanya...I am confident that the NUDIDANTHE NADEYUVA SARAKARA led by our honourable and just pro-poor Lord Sidda devaraya will prove that they are with the poor and victims of any crime...Jai India...Jai Congress...Jai Rajadhiraja...Kothambari Beeja..Sidda..Negedu bidda....chaddigala odda...

I had watched the statement of the victim family today. They are talking positively and giving suggestions of how women shud feel safe at workplace against such monstors who initially appear to be a creep. They are requesting govt and women dept to take action on these lines. But till now local MP who is a women union minister has not visited the family. She cud have got some suggestions from family. But i think she fears she will upset her voter base. What is the use of such voters i wonder?!

She has done her bit even before this visit by expressing solidarity soo after the incident.... But it is quite a shameful thing that yashapala being a stone's throw away from the victims' residence never visited not uttered a word about the incident anywhere... For small things they are there even if not required but such a massive incident and he is acting as if he has skipped a movie.... Same goes to shobha... God knows what is going on in their (responsible) minds???!!!... Are they planning another wave of communal speeches???...

Imagine the scene where in the communities involved are interchanged. Kushpal and Choobakka would have protested on streets. Bepppa appa from Shimoga would have said that Hindus have no protection under the present government. All Bore well, Pumpwell etc would have started marching towards Udipi as they did when there was a toilet recording by the students. Dollar piteel is busy in Puttur to repair the damage caused to his car when Praveen was murdered and to patch up with urchila parivar

Politicians belonging to any partly should be there, in any situation, for all the people irrespective of caste/creed/religion. Udupi MLA won because of the support of these people....We never know, who voted whom? Being in position OR NOT, all Politicians, religious leaders should condemn this heinous act. Is this democracy? Poor family martyrd for no fault of theirs!! Ahankarada/charbiya ushna rakkasana nethigeride andre, hendthi maklanne marethu bitta ghora paapi !!
