Brahmavar, Nov 25: The 30th annual day celebrations of Nirmala English Medium School, was marked with grandeur on Friday November 24 in the school premises.

Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza, vicar provincial and rector Kripalaya Institution of Philosophy and Religious Mysuru, was the chief guest for the annual day celebrations. He inaugurated the annual day celebrations along with guests of honour Walter Nandalike, founder Daijiworld media, Eshwar Malpe, life saver and social worker, Abdul Saleem, retired army officer, and president of the programme Fr John Fernandes, joint secretary Nirmala English Medium School, Brahmavar by lighting the lamp. Girish Kumar, president PTA and Wilma D’Silva, secretary, Fr Mark Saldanha, assistant parish priest Brahmavar, and Sr Kanuka Marneni, headmistress were also present.

Addressing the gathering, Walter Nandalike said, "I am honoured to receive the felicitation today. I have never expected anything in my entire life, but today's honour has raised my responsibilities towards the society. Parents have high expectations from their children, but we as parents fail to recognize the real talent and passion of our children. I request the parents to identify the real passion of their children. At the age of 3, we admit our children to pre-nursery. By the time they reach class 2, we admit them to tuition classes and other training. Sachin Tendulkar failed in class 10, but he knows cricket more than anyone else. There are many such individuals who followed their passion and succeeded in life. Try to concentrate on one arena of your child's interest and notice the changes. We actually love our children more than required. We need to give our children what is necessary and not everything they demand. Do not compare your children with others. Every child has a unique talent. This school has given all the opportunities to its students. Appreciate your children's smallest achievements.”

Fr Paul Melwyn D’Souza said "All Nirmalites are shining today. Everyone wants to achieve greatness in life. Achievements are not decided through certificates or ranks alone but good character too. Character is a mixture of good virtues. Good character is taught to children in Nirmala School.”

Eshwar Malpe said, "I am very much happy to be part of this programme. I have three children but due to their illness, they are unable to attend school like others. But this moment has given me utmost happiness. I request all the children to come out of the reels and selfie madness. Many of us visit some beaches and other tourist spots, but apart from enjoying the view of these places, we start making reels and taking selfies. Many go to any extent and risk their lives. I request all the children not to carry out any such risky activities.”

Fr John Fernandes, joint secretary Nirmala English Medium School, in his presidential address said, "The school annual day is an occasion to create beautiful memories. Today, we recognize the hard work of our school teachers and staffs along with the students. We have achieved many feats in this educational year. On this annual day, we need to make and achieve new resolutions. We ensure to provide a more facilitating environment for children in the upcoming days too.”

‘Sea of Wisdom’ school magazine was released on the occasion. Student achievers were honoured by the guests.

Walter Nandalike, founder Daijiworld media, Eshwar Malpe, lifesaver and social worker, and Adbul Saleem, retired army officer, were honoured by the school administration.

Fr Lenson Lobo, administrator, welcomed the gathering. Irene, faculty, proposed a vote of thanks. Greeshma and Sanika compered the programme.

Various cultural programmes depicting the culture, traditions and rich heritage of India were presented by the students.

Well timed article at this time. With so much to learn and practice, it’s much needed guidance based on child’s inner strength and talent. Children's talents often reflect a combination of innate abilities and environmental influences. Some believe that these talents are God-given gifts, emphasizing the unique qualities each child possesses. Nurturing and encouraging these talents can help children reach their full potential.
