Mangaluru, Dec 12: In a move to facilitate yard remodeling at Hassan Junction Railway Station, South Western Railway has announced the cancellation of numerous trains between Bengaluru and Mangaluru, along with other routes, from December 14 to December 22.

As per a notification from the Principal Chief Operations Manager, SWR, on December 11, the Railway Ministry has granted approval for pre-non-interlocking from December 14 to December 18 and non-interlocking from December 19 to December 22 at Hassan yard for remodeling purposes.

The upgradation of interlocking from Standard 1 to 3 will enable SWR to efficiently receive and dispatch trains in all four directions — Arsikere, Nelamangala (Bengaluru), Mysuru, and Mangaluru.

During the period from December 14 to 18, a line block, signal, and telecommunication block will be in effect from 2 pm to 6 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm. No rail lines in Hassan will be available for train operations during this time.

From December 19 to December 22, a traffic block from 8 am to 2 pm will be imposed for engineering work, and no trains will operate during this period.
