Kaup, Dec 13: In a heart-breaking incident, Kaup Leeladhar Shetty and his wife Vasundara Shetty reportedly took their own lives late at night on Tuesday, December 12.

Leeladhar, known for his simplicity and decency, had previously contested elections from the Kaup assembly constituency. Renowned for leading the Kaup Rajataranga troupe, he had a passion for drama and was an exceptional actor and director.

He was known for his commitment to aiding the vulnerable and his deep concern for society. A close associate of Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, Leeladhar had served as the former president of Kaup Buntara Sangha and was actively involved as the convener of the Bhajana Mandali. The arrangements for paying final respects to Leeladhar are scheduled at Kaup Majoor Karandadi School at 4 pm on Wednesday, December 13. In a testament to his community spirit, he had previously organized food, refreshments, and a shamiyana for an upcoming Kabaddi tournament scheduled for the following week.
