Mangaluru: Battery theft disrupts city bus’ service at Ullal

Mangaluru, Dec 13: In an unfortunate incident, two batteries and cables were stolen from a Route No. 44 passenger bus belonging to Mookambika Travels parked at Bagambila, Kumpala, Ullal. The theft, estimated at Rs 40,000, was discovered early this morning, impacting the bus's scheduled trips from Kumpala to Kottara.

The incident is suspected to have occurred between 1 am and 4 am in the wee hours on Wednesday December 13. The absence of batteries forced the bus to suspend its trips, causing inconvenience to passengers.

A case has been registered at Ullal police station, and investigations are underway to identify the culprits responsible for the theft.
