Hyderabad, Dec 15: Anudeep Durishetty created history by scoring the highest marks in the history of the UPSC in 2017.

Durishetty was working as a software engineer in Google after completing his graduation from BITS Pilani. However, he thought of serving the nation and opted for the UPSC. His first attempt ended up in disaster in 2012. Though he cleared the examination in 2013, his ranking was enough to get him position in the IRS.

Anudeep continued his efforts in 2014 and 2015 but could not reach the mark which he intended. In 2017, he not only topped the UPSC examination with the first rank but also scored the highest ever marks in the history of the UPSC. He scored 1126 marks out of 2025. The notable point is that he did not take any coaching. At present, he serves as the deputy commissioner of Hyderabad.

Family support played an important role in the achievement of Anudeep’s feat. The financial and emotional support of his family when he decided to opt for the UPSC was the key to his inspirational performance in the toughest examination in the country.
