Puttur: 24-year-old scientist from DRDO dies by suicide

Puttur, Dec 15: In a devastating turn of events, a young scientist employed with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) took his own life in Kallarpe, Aryapu village. The incident was discovered on Thursday December 14.

The deceased, Bharat Kallarpe (24), was a local resident and had been working on a temporary basis at DRDO in Hyderabad for the past two months.

Bharat had returned to his native place just a week ago. Despite his resignation, it is reported that the organization had not accepted it. On Wednesday night, Bharat received a call from his employer. Tragically, he hanged himself later in the night after concluding the phone conversation with a representative from his company.

Bharat is survived by his father, a journalist brother named Ganesh Kallarpe, and a sister.

A case has been registered in the rural police station.

    Sad news, we are loosing our young energetic youth. It clearly shows that there is a lot of tension at work places. Youth should not give up their lives for such silly reasons. Can't imagine the plight of family members. May God give them the strength to bear his loss. May his soul Rest in peace.

    RIP!! The suicides of personnel working for such institutions is always shrouded in very deep mystery, difficult to unravel, goes into oblivion with the dead.... the divine only knows!

    Workplace tensions and uncertainties are highest in defense research works... Look at the 8 Navy personnel in Qatar... One can be hooked into things they don't initiate to be involved in... Especially new recruits are made scape goats by the seasoned seniors... Too young to go... RIP to the departed young soul...
