Kundapur, Dec 18: Two fishermen tragically drowned in the sea after their boat capsized while returning from fishing at Kaluvithlu of Shiroor, near here, at around 1:30 am on Monday.
The incident occurred when three fishermen set out for fishing at 10 pm on Sunday from Kaluhitlu of Shiroor on the Numeira Anzum boat. As they were returning on Monday, the boat capsized near Kaluhitlu estuary.
The deceased are identified as Abdul Sattar (45), a resident of Hadavinakone Shiroor, and Misba Yousuf (48), a resident of Kudvayi Road Bhatkal. Another fisherman, Buddu Mukhtar (37), a resident of Hadavinakone, was rescued by Mamsu Yakoob, who was fishing in another boat.
