Kundapur: Car mows down elderly pedestrian crossing highway

Kundapur, Dec 18: An elderly individual lost his life in a tragic accident as he was crossing the highway in Maski, Navunda.

The victim, identified as Govinda Kharvi (70) from Ganesha Nagara in Navunda, was fatally struck by a speeding car.

The car, traveling from Kundapur to Byndoor, reportedly lost control, resulting in a collision with Kharvi, who was crossing the road. Eyewitnesses reported severe injuries, and tragically, Govinda succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

‘Apathbandhava’ Ibrahim Gangolli promptly transported the deceased to the hospital. The incident has been registered as a case at the Byndoor hospital.

    Apathbandhava’ Ibrahim Gangolli always there during such incidents even it at midnight. During Covid time I have seen him and his team carrying dead bodies when the relatives of deceased refuse to shift them from hospital to cemetery.

    When Highway passing through it should consider as a normal road and in minimum speed limit like School Zone area.
