Bengaluru, Dec 18: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah warmly appreciated the Christian community's service in the era of social inequality and contribution in education and health sectors was commendable.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Linear Accelerator Radiation Therapy Service at Baptist Hospital in Bengaluru on Monday, December 18.

The Christian community has done excellent work in the field of education and health. This community has laid a good foundation for quality education in Udupi and Mangaluru. Majority of people in Indian society were deprived of literacy, he said.

Modern treatment facilities

The linear oscillator radiation therapy service, a state-of-the-art treatment method for cancer treatment has been started at Baptist Hospital. If cancer is detected in the early stages, the patient can be cured. When the cancer is detected at a later stage, this advanced treatment helps prevent the disease from progressing.

He said since more rural people come to this hospital, it will be more convenient for the patients if the doctors here speak in Kannada, he said.

Affordable healthcare

Rich people visit good and expensive private hospitals. But Baptist Hospital, provides health services at low rates to poor people who struggle for daily life, believes in public service. Baptist Hospital has been providing treatment to poor people at affordable rates.

He said like a government hospital, Baptist Hospital is providing quality treatment to poor patients and the government will provide all kinds of cooperation to this hospital.

The previous Govt was out to demolish all institutions built by minorities -- harassment -- etc -- conversions bogey etc --- Now it is a changed atmosphere -- Most well deserved recognition of the Christian community -- by Hon. CM --- Coastal karnataka has benefited enormously by way of education -- good hospitals and nursing care -- various institutions of repute -- sports -- academics -- music - -art - vocational training - etc -- etc -- all done for humanity -- and with humility -- The benefits have been spread to all communities -- regardless of caste creed -- and most important who were financially deprived -- struggling -- but managed to get their children good education and a bright future -- at very reasonable fee structure -- many managed scholarships --
