Kasargod, Dec 19: A heart-wrenching incident unfolded as an 18-month-old girl, Jasa, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, after accidentally ingesting mosquito repellent two days ago. The young victim was the daughter of Anshifa P K and Ramshid, residents of Bava Nagar in Kanhangad town's Kalluravi ward.

The unfortunate incident occurred during a family function at the couple's house in Bava Nagar on Sunday. As the household was engrossed in the event, little Jasa, left unattended, accessed a refill pack of mosquito repellent on a shelf. According to Kalluravi councillor Ashraf C K, the family realized the mishap and rushed the toddler to a hospital in Kanhangad. However, no immediate measures were taken to counteract the poison, prompting a referral to another hospital in Mangaluru.

Despite medical efforts, Jasa's condition deteriorated, and the family's agony intensified with the arrival of her father, Ramshid, who works in a West Asian country. Tragically, the young girl couldn't be revived and leaves behind grieving parents and an elder sister.
