Kundapur: School girl ends life by drowning herself

Kundapur, Dec 21: In a heart-wrenching incident, a seventh-grade student took her own life by jumping into a well on Wednesday evening near Bobbarya temple, close to Koni under the jurisdiction of Kundapur police station.

The deceased, identified as Rishita, was the daughter of Rajasekhara, a resident of Koni.

Rishita had been grappling with mental depression for the past four months, seeking treatment at a hospital in Kundapur since September.

On Wednesday evening, after returning home, she left her bag and headed towards Bobbarya temple. When she did not return after some time, a search was conducted, revealing the tragic discovery of her lifeless body in a nearby well.

The Kundapur police have registered a case in connection with the incident.

    It is important to teach spirituality and fear of God moral science to all students at young age instead of scoring heavy marks and making as engineer or doctor. Fear of rebirth in hell and wrath of God for suicide is to be taught. Most kids nowadays use suicide threat to escape heavy load of parents or to fall in love with their youngsters irrespective of caste and religion. They are too be taught to be positive and work for their goals instead of taking in love and families should give tiger for their own kids instead of being busy making money or careers for themselves.

    RIP!! Wonder how many so called school counselors know even the meaning of depression; can you imagine a second year MBBS student of a very prominent MEDICAL COLLEGE in MangaNaUru 🐵 comitted suicide recently; reason given was she was suffering from depression for long as she was obese. If the so called counselors of this so called MEDICAL COLLEGE, which has a full fledged psychiatry department, could not even even detect that this student was suffering from depression with suicidal ideation (all people who suffer from suicidal ideation related to depression give telltale warning signs much before actually comiting the act) is a damning example of the awareness level on the subject even in so called reputed medical institutions, then forget about school counselors and forget laymen!! THE LESS SPOKEN THE BETTER 😞😔🙏!!

    Very sorry to hear this.I am sure she was really suffering some sort of sickness headache ,or mental distress after Covid which was not detected ?May be she couldnt tolerate any more and must have jumped to get release?Hope they have done some Post martum to look into this.May times their sickness is not detected right time or wrong diagnosed.Heartfelt sympathy to her family.May her soul rest in peace.

    NS Manipal Kindly dont give comments without knowing real reason.May be her cause of headache noone realized seriously?Was a wrong diagnose.?Many dont take it serious and think children dont want to study.Wish someone did the PostMartum in this case and give out result.Thses days unkown diseases are increasing.RIP
