A brilliant student, Uma pursued her engineering degree at IIT. However, her childhood dream of becoming an IAS officer persisted, driving her to pursue this goal after completing her engineering studies. Despite facing failure four times, Uma refused to be discouraged. Instead, she diligently analyzed the reasons behind her setbacks, addressing each shortcoming with renewed determination.

In her fifth attempt, Uma achieved an impressive All India Rank of 3, leaving everyone astonished.
