Bantwal, Dec 22: A driver sustained serious injuries in a head-on collision between two trucks at Narahari Cross on the national highway near Bantwal.

The collision resulted in a spill of oil from both trucks, causing a disruption in traffic for several hours. One of the trucks was transporting coal from Mangaluru to Bengaluru, while the other belonged to a transport company. The injured driver has been admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru for medical attention.

Due to the oil spill, traffic was affected from Melkar on one end to Kalladka on the other.

Bantwal Traffic Sub-Inspector Sutesh and his team promptly called in fire service personnel to address the oil spill on the road. Once the oil was removed, smooth movement of vehicles was restored. Both trucks were lifted and placed aside after the road was thoroughly cleaned.
