Mangaluru, Dec 23: MLA Vedavyas Kamath said that the Congress government is not serious about Covid situation in the state. He also said the government is not giving any grants for development works.

Addressing the media on Saturday, December 23, the MLA expressed concern over the Congress government's perceived lack of seriousness in addressing the COVID-19 situation. He criticized the government's approach, emphasizing the urgency for ventilators and face masks and highlighting the need for transparency in managing the rising COVID-19 cases in Kerala.

"The Congress government seems indifferent to the COVID-19 crisis. There is a lack of urgency in tackling the situation, and it is crucial for the chief minister and health minister to communicate their efforts in resolving COVID-related issues," he stated.

The MLA further expressed dissatisfaction with the perceived lack of precautions and planning in Mangaluru. He claimed that for the past seven months, the state government has not provided any grants to Mangaluru, hindering development works. He dismissed the statements made by minister of urban development and town planning Byrathi Suresh, about funds being allocated to Mangaluru, asserting that no such funds had been received.

Addressing alleged discrimination, the MLA accused the Congress of being against Hindus and causing trouble for Hindu activists. He called for transparency in Congress's approach and urged them to fulfill their responsibilities diligently.

Responding to questions about his absence from the health minister's meeting on Friday, the MLA explained that neither the deputy commissioner nor minister Dinesh Gundu Rao had extended an invitation or provided information about the meeting. He criticized the lack of communication and official invitations, contrasting it with the practices during their government, where official invitations were sent to the opposition leaders. He concluded by emphasizing the need for Congress to prioritize public welfare.

Vijaya Kumar Shetty, BJP president of Mangaluru south, Ravi Shankar Mijar, spokesperson, Mangaluru south, Divakar, former mayor, Roopa Bangera and J Surendra, general secretary of Mangalore South, were present.

We very well remember total failure of BJP central and state government to stop spread of Covid . Remember election rallies and road shows which spread Covid . We also saw videos of people gasping for air on the streets due to lack of oxygen lack of hospital beds. One Karnataka MP made money from bed crisis. We also remember gomuthra Parties arranged by BJP politicians . So you are not in a fit position to criticise others.
