Kasaragod, Dec 24: The mortal remains of an elderly couple were found in a pond near their house at Panathady on Saturday, December 23, in the evening.
The deceased are identified as N Krishna Naik (84), a resident of Panathady Nilachal and his wife Aithamma Bayi (80).
Both had gone missing from home. When search was conducted to locate them their bodies were found in a pond. Fire service personnel arrived and fished out the bodies from the pond.
Both the bodies were shifted to Kasaragod General Hospital. Krishna Naik was a former member of panchayat. Police suspect that the couple might have fallen into the pond accidentally.
Rajapura station police have registered a case in this connection.
