Bahrain, Dec 25: Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U T Khader expressed his appreciation for the significant role played by Kannada Sangha in preserving and promoting Kannada art, culture, and language among the Kannadigas in Bahrain. He made these remarks during a felicitation organized by the Kannada Sangha at the Kannada Bhavan during his visit to Bahrain.
While visiting the newly constructed Kannada Bhavan, which houses various study centers and Kannada classrooms for the Kannadigas, U T Khader commended the efforts of the Kannada Sangha in fostering love for the Kannada language and culture. He acknowledged the Sangha's vital role as a platform to pass on Kannada traditions to the younger generation.
Amarnath Rai, the president of the association, and other office bearers felicitated U T Khader during the event. Dignitaries and representatives from various organizations based in Karnataka, operating in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, also honored the Karnataka Assembly Speaker with shawls and mementos, expressing their love, trust, and admiration.
The felicitation ceremony took place at the Kannada Bhavan and featured the presence of Mohammad Mansoor, the chairman of the advisory board of Bahrain Cricket Federation, Sheikh Karnire, the vice-chairman of Expertisev and a prominent Kannadiga businessman from Saudi Arabia, and Mahesh Kumar, the vice-president of the Kannada Sangha.
During the event, Amarnath Rai provided an overview of the association's activities in his introductory speech, emphasizing the pivotal role of the Kannada Sangha in connecting Kannadigas with their cultural roots. Mohammad Mansoor and Sheikh Karnire, senior figures in the Bahrain business and cricket community, formally expressed their support for the Sangha's initiatives.
Ramprasad Ammenadka, the general secretary of the association, skillfully compered the program, and he concluded with a vote of thanks. The felicitation ceremony showcased the strong bond between the Kannadiga community and the esteemed U T Khader, reinforcing the importance of cultural preservation and exchange among the diaspora.
