Bengaluru, Dec 26: Chief minister Siddaramaiah said on Tuesday that total 4.30 crore people have been the direct beneficiaries of the guarantees.

Criticising the BJP leaders for their snide remarks and attacks against the Shakti guarantee, he said the BJP leaders were jealous of the success of the Congress guarantees and asked why the BJP leaders did not bother to introduce pro-poor and women friendly welfare schemes when they were in power.

“The Congress government’s guarantees have resulted in improving the purchasing power of the people and have led to increased economic activity. The working classes, women and farmers and women from the poor working class families have been able to save substantial savings. The women and poor people have been utilising the money saved for buying essential things while the women have been able travel all over the State without bothering about the cost, thanks to the Shakti guarantee,’’ he said.

Putting an economic spin on the Congress government’s widely popular guarantees, the Chief Minister said a total 4.30 crore people have been the direct beneficiaries of the guarantees, which also has economic benefits as they boost the growth of economy.

Launching 100 e-buses to the BMTC fleet in front of Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said the Shakti guarantee of the Congress government has become very popular among women with 40 lac women availing the free bus ride in government buses daily. As many as 1400 electric buses will be added to the fleet of buses of Bengaluru Mahanagara Transport Corporation (BMTC).

A total of 120 crore women have already utilised the Shakti guarantee, he said the free bus ride for all women in government buses has become hugely popular as women of all religions and castes without any distinction of income have been utilising the free bus ride guarantee.

Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, Transport Minister B Ramalinga Reddy, Rural Development Minister Priyank Kharge, Higher Education Minister Dr M C Sudhakar, Sports Minister Nagendra, Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil, legislators Rizwan Arshad, U B Venkatesh and Chief Minister’s Political Secretaries Govindaraju and Nasir Ahmed were among the dignitaries present.

You are partly right. IMF and World Bank are controlled by Black Rock and Rothschild who did the same with African countries and when they were unable to pay back were forced to give their minerals and oilfields to US entities controlled by them. Coming to Sri Lanka they and China are the biggest lenders and only after they refused to give more loans India bailed them out with small creditline to import food and other essentials. Their corrupt politicians too contributed to the downfall . Sudden change of agriculture is the another factor to reduce import of fertilizers which should have been done in phases. India is facing a debt crisis hidden by Godhi Media . 2/3rds of our earnings through GST is paid to service the debts. How development is possible and is the reason for selling profit making public sector entities at throwaway prises.

Sri Lanka was forced to buy loans from IMF and World Bank to fund unnecessary infrastructure projects like ports and their economy was opened to let in US markets thereby ruining local agricultural producers and from export nation to net importing nation. China too lent big and got those contracts. A nation dependent on tourism was hit by covid lockdowns too. India is caught in debt by unprecedented borrowings by Modi government to build unnecessary roadways and 75% of them are stalled due to lack of funds now. Toll collection isn't sufficient to pay interest dues. Debt has crossed 200 lakh crores and next government will be hard pressed to sustain the economy. We are on the way to follow Sri Lanka if not taken remedial measures Writing off bad loans of industrialists who had runaway after looting our banks hurt our economy than paying back some amount back to 65% taxpayers like poor and middle income people.

Dear Dev Mangalore, Get your facts right. SL was not forced on anything just like when it did not have to accept credit line from Modi Government. SL bought big into leftist agenda of Organic farming and made itself completely unsustainable to feed itself. Covid was eye opener because foreign exchange pipeline in the form of tourism ran dry. Finally, China, IMF or World Bank did not come to rescue, but credit line from India did. Now IMF would finance? But, Humbuntota will have to be buried deep in the ocean if IMF is to smile. Can SL get that distant from China? China did not offer credit line like Modi's India did. SL will try to dance to China's tune if money is on offer.
