Mangaluru: Private bus overturns near Polali gate; several injured

Mangaluru, Jan 2: A private bus overturned near Gurupura Kaikamba Polali gate on the evening of Tuesday, January 2, resulting in several injuries.

The accident is attributed to the driver losing control of the Navadurga bus operated by the Adi Lakshmi company, which reportedly had 40 to 50 passengers on board at the time.

The incident occurred approximately 100 meters from Gurupura Kaikamba Polali gate, with the bus heading from Kaikamba to BC Road.

The accident occured in Bajpe police station limits.

Preliminary reports indicate that around 40 to 50 passengers were present. Further details regarding the incident are awaited.

The injured individuals have been transferred to a local hospital, causing a traffic jam in the area.

    These Pvt buses have become notorious for overloading, relentless honking and overspeeding resulting in numerous accidents killing and maiming innocent people; high time they are banned permanently and taken over by the government!!

    Hangover newyear party, may be the reason. Our traffic Police check only two and four wheelers scooter and cars, they don't check trucks and buses drivers.

    Bus overturned and Passangers are injured.Main cause of this overturning is mostly driver runs the bus even though not full ,very fast .Later they cant control when have to stop somewhere.and mishap is there .Now who will pay for passangers hospital bill ?Good luck noone is seriously injured or any death to report.They try to fill the passangers so means run .

    Since you mentioned "pathetic roads", driver should have been more cautious. He should remember that he is driving bus in India, not in Japan. Apart from that he is in bus and not in aeroplane
