SRK Wants to be Saviour in Real Life Too

Mumbai, Sep 13: With ‘Krish’ and ‘Drona’ paving way for Indian superheroes, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to become the next superhero to the Indian audience.

Not just in reel life, but also in real life Shah Rukh wants to be a saviour – of the Indian Cinema. "Why should Indians be wearing only Batman T-Shirts or our kids collect toy merchandise from Hollywood movies,” he quipped.

 With about 150 crores and more invested in the movie, ‘Ra.One’ is a high risk venture. SRK claims to take the risk on behalf of the entire industry.  He said, “There is a lot riding on this film--not just theatrical collections, but new revenue streams like merchandise are being explored on a scale never done before.”

Shah Rukh will be retaining the IPR and has himself designed the toys inhouse which are manufactured in China. A range of about 50 products wild be made available in more than 3,500 stores and e-commerce sites. Also, gaming, graphic novels, mobile games for smart phones and iPads will soon be out.

Sources say that SRK himself has written the story to  the graphic novel.

With special effects done in-house by his entertainment company Red Chillies, SRK is hoping the movie will make it big at the box office. With a target audience aged 11-50 , he says, . "The story is very simple, it's first about a family, there is romance and there is action. It is eventually, the triumph of good over evil, a modern avatar of our very own Ramayan."
