Bantwal, Mar 14: A talented young photographer died following a severe accident involving two bikes that occurred on Friday night at Panemangaluru in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district. Rakshith Shetty (43), a resident of Shambhoor, is the deceased.

Rakshith, who had sustained serious injuries in the accident, was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru. However, he succumbed to his injuries Saturday, March 14, despite treatment.

Rakshith Shetty was an active member of the Bantwal unit of the Photographers’ Association and had earned recognition in his profession as an excellent videographer. The most painful aspect of the incident is that his daughter was to celebrate her 10th birthday tomorrow, March 15. While preparations were underway at home for the birthday celebrations, fate claimed the life of the father. The house that was preparing to celebrate is now filled with grief.

Rakshith’s family has already been facing several hardships. His brother Ranjith had also sustained serious injuries in an accident a few years ago and has since been bedridden. With the death of Rakshith, who was the main support of the family, the poor household has been left in distress.

A case regarding the accident has been registered at the Bantwal traffic police station, and further investigation is underway.
