Rajasthan, Jan 10: One would be astonished to learn that Satyanarayan Nuwal, the founder of Solar Industries, is a school dropout who once slept on railway stations. Despite his humble beginnings, his unwavering commitment has transformed him into a billionaire, with a current net worth of Rs 36,000 crore.

Hailing from Bilwara in Rajasthan, Satyanarayan's father was in public service. However, he was never inclined to work for others and harboured a strong interest in business. He initiated an ink manufacturing industry at the tender age of 18, which unfortunately failed. Undeterred, through various experiments, he eventually became a wealthy and successful businessman.

Nuwal dropped out of school in the 10th grade and, due to financial constraints, found himself sleeping on railway station platforms. His family faced significant challenges after his father's retirement in 1971, and Nuwal, married at the age of 19, had to navigate through these hardships.

A turning point in Nuwal's life occurred when he ventured to Balharshah in the Chandrapur district in Maharashtra. There, he met Abdul Sattar Allahbhai, a dealer of explosives used in road construction, mining, and well digging.

Initially, Nuwal struck a deal with Abdul Sattar, paying him Rs 1000 per month to use Abdul's license for dealing in explosives. Subsequently, Imperial Chemical Industries, a British chemical firm, noticed Nuwal and struck a deal that opened floodgates of opportunity.

In 1995, Nuwal founded Solar Industries, which has since become the largest producer of explosives and propellants, contributing to grenades, drones, and warheads as part of the Make in India mission. The company's worth was a mere 1765 crore rupees in 2012, but today it exceeds Rs 36,000 crore, showcasing a remarkable growth of 1700% over the last decade.

Nuwal's journey exemplifies that with determination, education, and money taking a backseat, any goal can be achieved.
