Mumbai: Video Album ‘A Tribute to Jerome D’souza’ Released

Mumbai, Sep 14: A Konkani video album DVD titled ‘A Tribute to Jerome D’Souza’ was released by Fr Dominic Vas at St Joseph’s Church, Mira Road, here following the Monti Fest Konkani mass.

The album is produced by Rayan D'Souza, son of Late Jerome D’Souza on be half of Jerome D'Souza Music Foundation. It contains classic songs by Jerome D'Souza like ‘Shegunachi Sunn’, ‘Taxiwala,Chinchpokli’, ‘Anea Sarkhen’, ‘Nach Moga Nach’, ‘Sou Futincho Goond Ganv’ and
other hit tracks.Also included in the album are jokes by Jerry and Juze from Mangalore.

On releasing the DVD Fr Dominic Vas said, “Jerome D'Souza is a legend singer and composer of the Konkani world and he hails from Mira Road parish. Konkani music lovers should encourage the work of such artist and it need to be made available to the future generation.”  He praised the work of Rayan D’Souza who has gained ample knowledge while working for Bollywood, and for promoting his fathers work in Konkani music.

There was a short get together after the mass. Rayan expressed his heartfelt sentiments and thanked all the people who worked for his project. He honoured Ligori Lobo, Helen D'Souza, Moly Lobo, Michael Fernandes, Austin Menezes, Viyola Mathias, John Crasta, Sophia D'Sa, Lawrence Mathias, Lona, Rony, Juliet, Roshan, Richard Mathias, Florine Mathias, Ancy Paladka during this occasion.
