Mumbai, Sep 20: ‘Speedy Singhs’, an Akshay Kumar and AJ Virmani production premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival was a star studded event with the streets of Toronto being adorned with traditional Indian decorations to welcome a carnival of Punjabi traditional dancers, accompanied by heavily embellished elephants and horses.
Akshay too made a grand entry by riding on a horse. A gala screening was held in the presence of its cast and crew comprising Rob Lowe, Anupam Kher, Vinay Virmani and Russell Peter.
‘Speedy Singhs’, also known as ‘Breakaway’ is a fun-filled movie with drama, action, sport and comedy.
In the movie, Anupam Kher plays the role of a strict father who is against his son playing hockey and is similar to his role in Bend it Like Beckham. The lead actor in the film is a fresh face by the name Vinay Virman.
At Akshay’s private birthday party, Grammy hip hop artist Ludacris flew to Toronto and surprised him. The party was also attended by Canadian Prime Minister the Honourable Stephen Harper and the First Lady of Canada Laureen Harper. Ludacris also performed ‘Shera Di Kaum’ with Akshay.
Speedy Singhs will release in worldwide on September 30.
