Mangalore: Palemar Promises Construction of ‘Tailors’ Bhavan’ Soon

Mangalore, Sep 21: Responding to one of the demands put forth during the DK district-level convention of Karnataka State Tailors’ Association organized at Town Hall here on Tuesday September 20, district in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar said that a special grant will be released from the CM’s fund for the construction of ‘Tailors’ Bhavan’.

“In this building, free tailoring and embroidery centres will be opened. The required amount of about Rs 40 lac will be released soon,” he said.



 

Further speaking, he said that 1,203 pensioners in the district have benefited from the pension card scheme and stated that the government always takes into consideration tailors in the state while projecting any budgetary approvals.
 
Vishwanath Shettigar M, chief secretary, district committee of KSTA, handed over an appeal to the district in-charge minister. The demand included provision of delivery allowance for women tailors, extension of the new pension project for another 10 years, availing loan for construction of houses for tailors at low interest rates, and the construction of Tailors’ Bhavan among others.
 
Ramesh Madur, president, DK district committee of KSTA, presided. Deputy speaker Yogish Bhat, MP Nalin Kumar, MLA U T Khader, and MLC Kota Shreenivas Poojary were present.

    free tailoring and Embrodireis? not advisible, bad idea. Then existing tailors may go on strike on this project. Instead give FREE drinking water.
