Bantwal: House Catches Fire – Businessman Suffers Heavy Loss

Bantwal, Sep 24: An old house belonging to a businessman at Vittal in the taluk was gutted in a fire that broke out early morning on Saturday September 24.

The said house, owned by Sridhar Pai, is located on Kasargod Road. Furniture and other items inside the house were partially burnt in the fire. Pai has his shop adjacent to his house. Coconut oil, red chilli, and other provisions relating to his business that were stored in the house, and also furniture, roof etc bore the brunt of the fire fury.


The locals immediately rushed to the rescue of the family and extended help in dousing the fire. The fire brigade personnel from Puttur were battling  hard with help of locals to extinguish the fire, when reports last came in. The policemen from Vittal police station also visited the site and took precautionary measures. The loss in the incident is yet to be assessed.
