State-level Mega Udyog Mela at Palace Grounds on Feb 26-27

Bengaluru, Feb 21: A mega state-level Udyog Mela is being organised by the State Government at the Bengaluru Palace Grounds on February 26 and 27.

Briefing media persons on the salient features of the mega job fair being held under the auspices of the state skills development and livelihood minister Dr Sharan Prakash Patil and IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge said the mega job fair is expected to be a big hit with over 500 national and multi-national companies participating. 

As many as 600 stalls by different companies and organisations will be established at the Udyog Mela, the ministers said.

The ministers said 31,000 candidates have already registered online for the job fair so far and more registrations are expected in the next few days. 

Graduates, Engineering and Diploma holders as well as those who have completed ITI and other professional courses and anxious to get jobs are likely to be benefitted by the Udyog Mela.

Dr Patil and Kharge said over 1 lakh jobs are likely to be on offer based on the educational qualifications.

The ministers said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar will be participating in the inaugural function of the two-day Udyog Mela. 

Candidates arriving from different districts will be provided with free food as also free bus travel from Majestic to the venue of the Udyog Mela at the Bengaluru Palace Grounds. 

With experts and counsellors in different fields being arranged, they will help the candidates in selecting the suitable jobs. Even candidates, who have been unable to get jobs, need not be worried as training and skills upgradation arrangements will be made. Skills gaps will also be filled, the ministers said.
