Chikkamagaluru, Feb 26: Basavanahalli station police have registered a FIR and begun investigation against four youths who pasted posters against MP Shobha Karandlaje from Tarikere to Chikkamagaluru at night.

The posters in Kannada ask "Shobhakka where are you? Shobhakka is missing.” The youths said they were paid to paste the posters.

The infighting between union minister Shobha Karandlaje and former MLA C T Ravi for the Udupi – Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha ticket has become known and intense. C T Ravi's supporters have started a ‘Go back, Shobha Hatao, BJP Bachao’ campaign not to issue a ticket to the sitting MP Shobha Karandlaje.

The campaign has angered the BJP high command. Basavanahalli police are investigating the posters. The youths, who are accused, are said to be residents of Tarikere. A FIR was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the civic workers of the municipal council.

Shobha angry with posters

Union Minister Shobha said that the campaign held last time is being repeated by some people in exchange for money. “Some men have the feeling that authority should only be with them. I have worked sincerely in Yediyurappa's ministry and prime minister Modi's cabinet. I will not answer to these. Our high command will answer them,” she said.

“The high command is watching everything. My elders will answer them on my behalf. I know who wrote and pasted these posters. The Centre has received the report and will seek a report when such incidents occur. The Centre knows the truth. The party leadership will answer them,” she said.
