Udupi: 28th Karnataka State Athletic Championship Begins Oct 13

Udupi, Sep 27: 'Corporation Bank 28th Karnataka State Junior and Senior Athletic Championship – 2011' will be held under the aegis of district Athletic Association at Mahatma Gandhi district grounds, Ajjarkad, from Thursday October 13 to Sunday October 16.

Over 2,000 athletes from all over the state are expected to participate in the meet. The winners will qualify to represent Karnataka in the 27th National Senior and Junior Sports Meet.

A cultural extravaganza will held from October 13 to October 16 evening, led by Alva’s Education Foundation chairman Dr Mohan Alva.

National and international athletes will participate as chief guests on the occasion.

President of the meet MLA Raghupati Bhat, executive president of the meet Yashpal Suvarna, UDAA president Balakrishna Hegde, UDAA president Balakrishna Hegde, organizing secretary Jayaram Suvarna, convener of the meet Mahesh Takoor, UDAA vice-president Raghuram Nayak, secretary of the meet M C Hegde, UDAA and secretary of the meet Dinesh Kumar, UDAA vice-president Kemparaj H P, and UDAA treasurer Lachendra were present at the press meet.
