Mangalore: Milagres Unit of Catholic Sabha Organizes Workshop on Legal Awareness

Mangalore, Sep 27: The Catholic Sabha of Milagres parish organized a workshop on legal awareness at the parish hall, here on Sunday September 25 afternoon.

Fr Francis D’Almeida of Mangalore diocesan legal aid cell, city lawyer Praveen Pinto, Milagres parish priest Fr Walter D’Mello were the resource persons.

Fr Francis D’Almeida delivered a talk on procedures related to First Information Report (FIR) and legal aspects of criminal law.

Praveen Pinto spoke on the importance of the Consumer Protection Act.

Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh Milagres unit president Honara Pereira rendered the prayers.  Milagres unit political representative Anil Albert D’Souza welcomed the gathering.  Treasurer Lynette D’Souza proposed vote of thanks.

    very poor attendence for this progrem. we can see lot of progrems conducted by small parishes like paldane where a huge number of devotees for any function.we must learn from them.it may be because of the leader.

    just 15 person and lot of empty chairs are seen in the photogrps. it is the duty of catholic sabha to mobilise more persons for this type of progrems.otherwise the efforts of the speekers are not yield any results.organisers please note this

    Why the catholic education board board is not opening law colleges to start LL.B & LL.M degree couses. Whether the church is not having respect to Inidian Law. Please note that Indian Criminal law and Indian Evidence Act is the product of bible. We have so many insitutuions, but no law colleges why? who will answer this question?

    Very bad precedent for our catholic community, when just a few attend to get insight/ knowledge to legal remedies in the city. Such a huge parish with rich and mighty not attending ............ what about rural areas like kelarai where last year i attended a similar awareness camp organized by Fr. John Vas, Parish Priest of St.Anne church Kelarai for the Catholics of the parish with the attendance measly, it was a bad experience. Catholics kindly wake up before u get swallowed up from the Religious, Political, Bureaucratic and CORRUPT INDIVIDUALS of our COMMUNITY . Get Rid Of Them
