Mangaluru: Absconding accused arrested after decade-long run

Mangaluru, Mar 15: After a decade on the run, an absconding suspect has been apprehended by Bajpe police.

The arrested individual, Nitin (37), hails from Sultadi Mane, Kariyangala village in Bantwal taluk.

A case was filed on July 12, 2014, at the Bajpe police station, concerning the illegal transportation of stolen sand and red stones. Although Nitin was initially apprehended and presented in court, he obtained bail and subsequently evaded further court proceedings.

Led by Inspector Nandesh B Kumbar, the Bajpe police successfully located and detained Nitin in Kadaba. Following his arrest, Nitin has been remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.
