Mangaluru, Mar 15: A young woman was brutally assaulted by young man, on Friday, March 15.
The victim is identified as Nazreen (18) and the accused Salman (19), a resident of Attavar.
Salman had been stalking Nazreen and harassing her for the past one year, it is said.
The incident occurred when Nazreen was returning home after performing Namaz when she was near fatally attacked.
Nazreen is currently receiving treatment in the intensive care unit of a private hospital.
Furthermore, the assailant allegedly attempted to attack her family members after barging into the hospital where she is being treated.
A case has been registered at Pandeshwar Women's Police Station in the city in connection with the incident.
Despite the registration of the case, the family alleges that no action has been taken by the police authorities.
