Mangaluru: Lok Sabha elections – Security tightened at checkposts

Mangaluru, Mar 17: The Dakshina Kannada district, including Mangaluru commissionerate limits, witnessed heightened security measures following the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates by the Election Commission.

Security has been bolstered at interstate and inter-district borders, with extensive vehicle checks at all checkpoints since Saturday evening. These checkpoints are equipped with advanced facilities.

Superintendent of Police C B Rishyanth visited the Saradka checkpoint on the Kerala-Karnataka border and instructed personnel to conduct rigorous inspections.
