Mangaluru, Mar 18: Former MLA Mohiudeen Bava stated, "I am still a member of the JDS party, but I also lend my support to the BJP. However, I do not align with certain ideologies of the BJP."
Addressing the media here on Monday, March 18, Bava expressed, "My supporters and well-wishers have expressed their desire for me to contest in the upcoming elections. I will make a decision after meeting with my supporters on March 28."
When questioned about his status with the JDS, Bava clarified, "I remain a member of the JDS party. However, since the JDS has allied with the BJP, I extend my support to the BJP. Nevertheless, I do not endorse all the ideologies of the BJP, particularly their stance on CAA, Hijab, and Azaan. I also opposed Kumaraswamy's visit to the Kalladka school."
Reflecting on his past political affiliations, Bava explained, "Despite my expectations and readiness to contest under the Congress banner, they did not consider me for a ticket, even during my period of fasting. Disappointed, I found it inevitable to join the JDS. While my supporters urged me to contest as an independent candidate, I made a mistake in the past. This time, I will consult with my supporters before making a decision." Bava previously alleged that the state president was responsible for him missing the MLA ticket during the last assembly elections.
