Mangaluru: Layout manager rescues baby Mongoose from jaws of dog

Mangaluru, April 3: A dog had caught a baby Mongoose, attacked and assaulted it at Sooryakhanda, Ullal. The nearby layout manager, rescued the mongoose by tending to it before handing it over to the forest department.

Pushpraj Harekala, the manager of Suryakhanda Layout under construction was at his work spot when a dog chased a baby Mongoose nearby which caught the latter and rammed it to the floor.

The Mongoose suffered severe injuries on its head and tail. Pushpraj splashed water on the creature and applied medicine to its injured tail.

He later contacted the forest department. The Mangaluru forest range beat officer Pravin and forest observer Abhijith provided treatment to the Mongoose before leaving it in the forest.
