Udupi, Apr 7: Hitesh K Koyal, the election vigilance officer for the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency, emphasized the importance of adhering to Election Commission (EC) regulations to ensure transparent and fair elections.

Speaking about the election preparations at the Zilla Panchayat campus in Manipal, Hitesh urged officials to make all necessary arrangements in accordance with EC rules.

"The teams tasked with preventing violations of the election code of conduct must provide clear instructions to officials and staff engaged in election-related duties," Hitesh emphasized.

Alok Kumar, the expenses vigilance officer, echoed Hitesh's sentiments, stressing the need for all officials to work together to ensure free and fair elections. He emphasized the importance of using specified forms and records.

DC Vidya Kumari provided detailed information about the voters, the number of polling booths, the deployment of officials and staff for election duty, teams formed to prevent ECC violations, checkposts installed, and the distribution of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

Also present at the meeting were Meena Nagaraj, DC of Chikkamagaluru and assistant election officer of Chikkamagaluru, police vigilance officer Binita Takur, ZP CEO Prateek Bayal, and ADC Mamta Devi.
