Mangaluru: 2016 Rajesh Kotian murder case - Four sentenced to life imprisonment

Mangaluru, Apr 20: The court sentenced four men accused of murdering Mogaveera Pattana resident Rajesh Kotian, alias Raju Kotian, to life imprisonment in the Ullal police station limits.

Rajesh Kotian was killed by being hit with wooden sticks and having his face smashed with boulders near the Ullal Kotepura Barka overseas factory on the morning of April 12, 2016. A police case was filed at the Ullal police station in connection with this incident.

Mangaluru CCB officers and staff swiftly cracked the case under the guidance of the police commissioner, leading to the arrest of the primary accused Mohammed Asif, alias Achi, Mohammed Suhail, Abdul Mutalif, alias Muthu, Abdul Aswir, alias Aswir, alias Achu, and two minor boys who were entangled in legal issues. The then Konaje police station inspector, Ashok P, conducted investigation and submitted the charge sheet against the accused to the court.

The additional 1st district and sessions court sentenced the four accused of murder to life imprisonment and fined them Rs 25,000 each.

Senior government prosecutor Judith Volga Margaret Crasta presented the government's case.
