Kundapur: 6 bank employees hurt in road mishap on NH66 near Naguru

Kundapura, Apr 21: Six bank employees were seriously injured in a horrific road accident on National Highway 66 in the afternoon on Sunday, April 21.

Employees of the State Bank of India were seriously injured in an accident between a car and a lorry at Arehole bypass near Naguru on the National Highway 66. Two of the employees Pratap Prem Prajwal Anthony Suresh and Hattikudru resident Vignesh were injured.

Those who were in the car stayed at their friend Vignesh's house on Saturday evening and left for Gokarna temple on Sunday afternoon. At around 3.45 pm, a lorry collided with the car in which they were travelling when the passengers reached Arehole bypass near Naguru.

Due to the severity of the accident, five of the six people who were on foot were seriously injured. Prajwal and Anthony have been admitted to Adarsha Hospital. Pratap and Prem are admitted to the Kundapura Hospital. Suresh, a native of Andhra Pradesh, and Vijnesh, a resident of Hatti Kudru, have been admitted to the Manipal Hospital.

Six people working in the SBI around Chikkamagaluru stayed at their friend Vignesh's house and went for a walk on Sunday. The 108 ambulance of Kirimanjeshwar and MHI ambulance of Gangolli assisted in transporting the injured to the hospital while Mohammad Abrar and Natar of Nagur assisted.

Despite the heavy traffic on Sunday, the injured were transported to the hospital with the cooperation of the locals. A case has been registered in Byndur police station in this regard.
