Kasargod: Private bus overturns after driver loses control, several injured

Kasargod, Apr 22: A private bus overturned on the outskirts of the city at Vidyanagar on Monday morning as its driver lost control over the vehicle. The bus, named Kritika, overturned while attempting to overtake another private bus ahead of it. Fortunately, there were only a few passengers on-board.

Residents of Neeleshwar, Reshma and Pavitha, along with residents of Kalyot, Kamalaksha and Prabhakaran, as well as residents of Peirya, Gokulraj, Sarina, Megha, and Krishna, were injured in the accident. They have been admitted to a hospital in the city.

The traffic was disrupted temporarily after the mishap. Fire service personnel and civilians helped rescue the injured from the bus. Eyewitnesses attribute the accident to over-speeding and negligence on the part of the driver.

The traffic police have registered a case regarding the incident.
