London, Oct 15 (IANS): Comedian Ben Stiller will feature in the big screen adaptation of "Rentaghost" in a role which was earlier reportedly being essayed by Russell Brand.
The actor will play ghost Fred Mumford in the film, based on the 1970s eponymous children's show, reports thesun.co.uk.
Written by the team behind Stiller's "Night At The Museum", the film has Fred as the boss of a firm called Rentaghost, which rents out ghouls for various tasks.
The original series, which ran from the mid-1970s to 1984, featured British actors Michael Staniforth, Edward Brayshaw and Anthony Jackson and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" star Michael Darbyshire.
Last December it was reported that Brand had signed up for the big screen adaptation. However, it is unclear whether he pulled out of the project or he was replaced.
