Mangaluru: MCC Bank holds staff performance review, awards ceremony for 2023-24

Mangaluru, Jun 8: The staff performance review and award ceremony for 2023-24 of the MCC Bank was held on Saturday, June 8, at the P F X Saldanha Memorial Auditorium, administrative office, Mangaluru. The review began with a prayer led by Aldrin Dsouza and team.

The programme was inaugurated by Fr John Vas, former procurator of Mangalore Diocese by lighting the lamp.

Speaking on the occasion, Fr John Vas, expressed that recognition of service for an institution is very important as it encourages the staff to work proactively towards the progress of the Bank. He called upon the constituents of the bank to have a better attitude towards work and to be happy to work for the Bank.

 

 

He said that the target is very important since it helps to enhance the growth of the bank. He recalled the saying, “Aim at the sky, you’ll reach the top branch of the tree”. He congratulated the management and the staff members for the tremendous progress made by the bank during the last decade. 

MCC Bank chairman Sahakara Ratna Anil Lobo presided over the programme. In his presidential address he appreciated and congratulated the staff members for their dedicated service, as it has helped to gain trust among the members and customers of the Bank.

He congratulated all the managers and staff members who achieved individual, milestone and share mobilisation for the financial year 2023-24. While congratulating 6 branches who achieved their branch target, he aspired that all the branches would achieve the target for year 2024-25 and receive the award.

He recalled that only 15% of the staff have achieved the individual target this year and called upon that at least 60% of the staff members should achieve the target for the year 2024-25. He emphasised that collective efforts among the staff members will always yield good results for the branch. "Every staff should take the model of John D’silva, who has worked selflessly for the betterment of the society," he said.

He urged the staff members to be more disciplined, confident on the products of the bank and to enhance the PR of the Bank. While he stressed upon that the loans target should be invariably achieved by all the branches, he presented the vision of expanding the Bank to new places. 

Advisor S H Visweswaraiah, reviewed the performance of the Bank for the FY 2023-24 and analysed the factors that led to the excellent growth under various parameters. He appreciated the staff members for their tremendous achievement in achieving the business targets under Loans & Advances and also in improving the financials of their respective branches.

John D’silva, eminent personality in the co-operative sector, was the chief guest for the awards Ceremony. In his address he opined that the only people who are largely recognised by the society are bank employees as they help the people in the society in their day-to-day business and other business-related matters.

He appreciated the management for opening a new branch after a long span of 22 years. In the present competitive scenario, it is difficult to run an urban co-operative Bank. But, in spite of having hardships and challenges, MCC Bank is progressing to new heights. He called upon the Bank to strive hard in attaining the schedule bank status very soon. 

The fifth edition of 'Banks Bulletin' was released by chief guest John Dsilva.

The staff members, who achieved the individual targets, achievers of milestone event targets and share mobilisation target to increase the net worth, were felicitated. 

Blanche Fernandes, manager of Founders Branch, Ida Pinto, manager of Kankanady branch, Wilma J Sequeira, manager of Kulshekar branch, Rohan K D’silva, manager of Bajpe branch, Sunitha Dsouza, manager of Surathkal branch and Sundeep Quadras, manager of Kundapura Branch were honoured as best performing managers for the year 2023-24.

Best Business Performance branch awards were bagged by founders, Kankanady Kulshekar, Bajpe, Surathkal and Kundapura branches. The branch managers of these branches were felicitated with a shawls, flower bouquets, mementos, appreciation certificates and cash prize. The staff members of these branches were also honoured with floral bouquets.

Directors, Herold Monteiro, Dr Freeda F Dsouza, Irene Rebello, Dr Gerald Pinto, Melwyn Vas, J P Rodrigues, Vincent Lasrado, Anil Patrao and Felix Dcruz, professional director C G Pinto, were present on the occasion.

General Manager Sunil Menezes announced the awardees. Shirva staff member, Shri Rithesh D’Souza compered the programme. Deputy General Manager Raj F Menezes proposed the vote of thanks.

On this occasion, a free eye test camp was organised in association with Prasad Nethralaya, Pumpwell, Mangaluru, for directors and the staff members.

    Congratulations to all the staff members who received recognition of service towards the progress of the Bank. Bank or for that matter any institution, along with staffs performance recognition, Managements keen interest and determination to implement technological updation like net banking, online banking facility, scheduled banking status, to enable Trusts and society's bank with them is very important for growth and sustenance.
