Puttur: Truck Hits Parked Tanker, Two Serious

Puttur, Oct 24: Two persons sustained serious injuries, and the truck they were travelling in was badly mangled, after their vehicle hit a tanker that was parked near Ashwini Hospital at Hosamajalu near Nelyady on Sunday October 3.

The truck, which was carrying goods to Mangalore from Bangalore, swerved to the left, after a car in front of it stopped all of a sudden to avoid hitting a cow that was crossing the road. The truck then hit the tanker that had been parked by the roadside. The truck suffered extensive damages.

Kumar, who was driving the truck, and Shivaraj, cleaner, were injured. Both of them are from Gauribidanur, it is learnt.

Locals helped to bring out the injured from the truck and provide their medical aid. Both the injured were taken to a hospital in Mangalore for treatment. A case was registered in the local police station.
