Kundapur, Jun 14: Police personnel in-charge handed over 12 stolen mobile phones to their rightful owners on Thursday at Kundapur police station.
Handing over the mobile phones to the owners, inspector Nandakumar said, “So far, 65 lost mobile phones have been traced. In some instances, our personnel have even gone to outstation states to trace the stolen devices. These 12 mobile phones were recovered from Haveri, Gadag, Mangaluru, Davanagere and Karwar from April 1 to June 10. One of the mobile phone recovred was stolen two years ago.”
SP Dr Arun K said, “If the public register information about their lost mobile phones on CEIR portal, it will be easier for the police to trace the same. It will also help in preventing misuse of the lost mobile phones.”
The operation was carried out under the direction of the SP and orders of Kundapur sub division ASP Belliappa, with active participation of inspector Nandakumar, SI Vinay M Korlahalli, Prasad Kumar K, Siddappa Sakanalli, Maruti Naika and technical personnel Ashwini Kumar.
