Udupi: Awareness drive against plastic usage held at SMVITM

Udupi, Jun 14: NSS-YRC-RC unit and environmental club of Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), Bantakal jointly organized “Awareness drive against plastic” on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5.

More than 500 student volunteers actively participated and rendered their service in and around the college, distributing paper covers and paper bags to medical and grocery shops made by them and thereby creating awareness on Waste minimization in an efficient way by focusing primarily on reuse, reduce, recycle.

Dr Thirumaleshwara Bhat, principal, Dr Ganesh Aithal, vice principal, deans, SWO, appreciated all the students. Nagaraja Rao coordinator, NSS-YRC-RC unit had organized an awareness drive.

Raghunath, Jayaram Naik, Dr Ganesh Prasad and Raghavendra G S had participated in the awareness drive and motivated the students.
