Bengaluru, Jun 14: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed the Kalyana Karnataka Regional Development Board (KKRDB) to prepare a comprehensive action plan to utilize the Rs 5,000 crore grant announced to the board in the budget by July 15.
The Chief Minister, who held a review meeting of the KKRDB in Vidhana Soudha on Friday, asked the officials to ensure that Rs 2,885 crore sanctioned for the development of the region has remained unspent so far out of the allocation of Rs 14,228 crore.
Siddaramaiah wanted the officials to ensure that all the obstacles in the utilization of the allocated funds must be removed forthwith and the works must be taken up in a systematic manner.
He noted that as many as 3,528 approved works must be expedited and completed by next month. Education, health and employment generation must get priority in all the works, he said.
Siddaramaiah wanted immediate action to be taken for establishing 41 women’s degree colleges as announced in the budget.
Ministers Dr Sharan Prakash Patil, Rahim Khan, Ishwar Khandre, Z A Zameer Ahemed Khan, Sharanabasappa Darshanapur, Shivaraj Thangadgi, N S Boseraju and KKRDB Chairman Dr Ajay Singh, Chief Minister’s Economic Advisor Basavaraja Rayareddy, Political Secretary Naseer Ahmed, Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner Dr Shalini Rajneesh and other senior officials attended the meeting.
