Bantwal, Jun 19: Following complaints about inadequate KSRTC bus services in various villages of the Bantwal constituency, Rajesh Naik Ulippadi held a meeting at his office in BC Road with officials from the KSRTC Mangaluru and Puttur divisions.
Shivaraj from Baltila raised the issue that the bus from Puttur to Neerapade via Baltila was not running properly. Puttur DTO Muralidhar Acharya assured that this would be rectified.
When requested to have a couple of buses on the Puttur-Mangaluru route travel via Baltila-Shambhur-Narikombu to PaneMangaluru, officials promised to consider this after August.
R Chennappa Kotiyan and Dinesh Amtur requested that buses stop at Kalladka Lower Market. Vajranath Kalladka requested a stop for Madikeri buses at Kalladka.
Anand Shambhur requested the resumption of night buses to Shambhur and Barimar. The MLA instructed to contact the Mangaluru DC for action. It was also instructed to resume the bus service to Sarapadi following ministerial orders.
Jayaram Rai requested a bus service to Bolantur in the afternoon. Bantwal Depot Manager Sreesh Bhat explained that due to auto-rickshaws, there were no passengers for the bus in that area. Dinesh requested a bus service from Veerakamba to Anantadi.
When Sadananda Navoor mentioned the Dharmasthala bus, Mangaluru DTO Kamalkumar informed that there was a shortage of 425 drivers and conductors in the Mangaluru division. Mangaluru depot manager Manjunath and former BUDA president B Devadas Shetty were also present at the meeting.
