Kundapur: Special programmes organized at MIT

Udupi, Jun 25: A series of special programmes were organized at MIT Kundapura as a part of International Yoga Day.

In the morning session, yoga training was organized by the NSS unit and YRC unit of MIT. Manjunath Bijuru, a renowned Yoga teacher, was the resource person. He taught the students some simple asanas that can be done daily and explained in detail the rules that one should follow while doing Yoga.

In the afternoon session, Praveen Kumar, teacher at Isha Hata Yoga, Mangaluru explained his experience about yoga and how it helps in the mental and physical development of a person and gave a demonstration of Omkara to the students. Both the staff and the students benefited from the programme.

Prof Balanageshwar, programme coordinator, welcomed the gathering and Dr Ramakrishna Hegde, director, brand building of IMJ Institutions proposed the vote of thanks. Professor Sookshma Adiga compeered the programme.
