Mumbai, Oct 27 (IANS): Television actor Ronit Roy was arrested here Thursday after his car rammed into another car injuring three of its four occupants, including a woman who was in critical condition.
The incident occurred in Andheri West around 6.30 a.m. The other car was thrown off the road and overturned.
According to police, Ronit helped to take the injured women to the nearby Kokilaben Ambani Hospital.
But he did not inform the police and went away from the hospital. Police acted after the victims complained.
Rohit was then placed under arrest. He was sent for a medical check-up to ascertain if he had consumed liquor.
The actor, who started his career with the movie "Jaan Tere Naam" in 1992, earned popularity on televison with shows like "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi", "Kasautii Zindagi Kay" and "Bandini".
Currently he stars as a successful lawyer in the weekly show "Adaalat".
