Beltangady: 65 BJP members including MLA Poonja summoned over police obstruction

Beltangady, Jun 28: The special court for people’s representatives in the city has issued summons against 65 BJP workers, including MLA Harish Poonja and BJP Mandal president Srinivasa Rao, in connection with two separate cases of obstructing police duty during a protest against the arrest of BJP Yuva Morcha taluk president Shashiraj Shetty.

Summons have been issued to 28 individuals in the first case and 37 in the second case. The accused are required to appear before the chief metropolitan magistrate's court on July 10 for inquiry.

The Beltangady police have submitted charge sheets for both cases to the people’s representatives’ court. The court has now issued the summons, and the inquiry is set to begin on July 10.

    Belthangday voters are not naive; they carefully choosed whom to elect and why. They have elected him twice due to his proven track record of fulfilling promises. It might be a better idea to suggest to Mr. Ivan Lobo to run for the MLA election instead of the MLC

    Mr. Poonja people of Belthangady elected you as MLA not to protest on arrest of criminals but to do developmental works of your constituency. Tell me how many govt schools you are developed and how you improved the facilities at Govt Health care centre and hospitals ? How you developed the infrastructures in your constituency? Instead of doing all these dramas focus on your constituency
